Job Description


The Production Specialist aids and assists production in both stages as well as location work. Must know inventory, location and use of equipment the studio owns as well as sub-rented equipment. Must be able to assist sub-contracted labor in use of the stages, SNEAKY BIG equipment, as well as make sure equipment is used and returned in working order.  Assists in the general upkeep and cleanliness of the stages and storage areas are maintained in a safe and successful workspace. 

Responsibilities and Experience: 

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all incoming calls for information 
  • Create call sheets, vender lists, production schedules, wrap books, travel accommodations and other general admin duties 
  • Scouts and approves locations, equipment, and other necessary resources.  
  • Stay abreast of cutting-edge technology and production trends in partnership with Senior Engineer.  
  • Hire production crews, including DP, actors, makeup artists, and costume designers, contractors, etc.  
  • Serve as main contact with production crews during prep, shoot and wrap, communicating all pertinent information.  
  • Assist Producers and Production Manager in bidding production projects. 
  • Develop systems and processes to efficiently coordinate and track all production work, from shooting schedules, to editing needs to client invoicing.  
  • Ensure that all incoming emails are replied to in a prompt fashion and with pertinent  
  • Give tours of the studio explaining Sneaky Big’s  facilities and services 
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that any issues are handled immediately 
  • Check SBS equipment in and out per production needs. Ensure accuracy of count in equipment that is pulled for production and returned after production. 
  • Assist sub-contracted crews in use of the SBS stages, lighting, and grip equipment. 
  • Have a basic knowledge of all SBS cameras, and accessories to assist incoming directors, DP and AC. 
  • Have knowledge of and will operate as needed various teleprompter systems. 
  • Program and operate stage lighting systems. 
  • May be required to drive company owned vehicle or rented production vehicles. 
  • Assist Operations in upkeep and maintenance of equipment, obtaining RA’s from vendors for repairs, shipping and tracking of all repaired items. 
  • Responsible for safe operation of Genie lift. 
  • Pickup and return of sub-rented equipment. 
  • Assist in set up and tear down of equipment for production and events. 
  • Maintain and grow a through working knowledge of all SBS cameras, lighting, and grip equipment. 
  • Maintain a positive customer service experience for all SBS clients. 
  • Grow knowledge base to include shooting ability with all SBS cameras. 
  • Provide support to production staff as necessary 
  • Encourage repeat business by networking with existing customers 
  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned 


Education and Additional Experience: 

  • Knowledge of video production equipment and techniques 
  • Knowledge of Red Weapon and Sony F55 cameras 
  • Experience as PA and Grip on production shoots 
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds 
  • Must have a current driver’s license  
  • Dependable, on time, creative problem-solving skills 


Working Conditions: 

This position requires a person to work both indoors in a video production studio and outdoors on video production location shoots.  Temperatures in Arizona can be extreme during the summer.  Video production involves long hours on occasion. Heavy lifting, climbing ladders, familiarity with operation of Genie lifts and scissor lifts and able to work with heights of up to 20’ above the stage floor are necessary.
