Job Description

As our Broadcast/Studio Engineer you will maintain and support all aspects of Sneaky Big’s daily operations by providing technical support to the leadership & production team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years engineering experience in live sporting events, broadcast truck engineering, and/or live production planning. Technical operations experience is highly desirable


  • Daily maintenance of broadcast studio infrastructure and equipment to ensure that all systems are performing at peak levels
  • Work as part of the Engineering and Technical Operations team during live broadcasts to support and at times operate equipment to ensure a successful broadcast
  • Understanding of engineering practices and policies to ensure signal quality throughout the studio; must be able to read and understand schematic drawings, have a working knowledge of video/audio signal formats as well as computers and network systems
  • Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio for creating and editing studio documentation
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment according to routine maintenance program
  • Provide upgrade suggestions for all equipment including software and hardware
  • Work with external vendors to resolve equipment and technical issues when necessary
  • Ensure all maintenance records and documentation are always current
  • Ability to develop new processes which will improve the daily function of the studio
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology in order to provide annual capital expenditure recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in broadcast engineering supporting live productions (sports), live streaming, commercial and post production
  • BSEE degree from an accredited institution or an associate degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent experience
  • SBE or another professional certification a plus
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record is required
  • The ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
  • The ability to work on ladders over 12 feet in height
  • Must be able to lift and pull cable overhead and under flooring


  • Experience with Vizrt, Chyron, Ross Graphics systems, Brainstorm, and Stype a plus
  • Experience with Grass Valley/Miranda Routers, Switchers, and card frames
  • Experience with Sony Broadcast camera systeExperience with Encode/Decode Compression for fiberoptic transmission
  • Experience with Cisco or Brocade networking
  • Experience in Audio and Video Post Production environments a plus
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks while working effectively under the pressure of production timelines
  • Savvy technical skills and mechanical ability; will be required to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair and install electronic equipment by combining electronic theory and logic (both analog and digital)
  • Experience with small hand tools, power tools and test equipment
