Job Description

The Video Editor is an integral piece of the post-production team that creates high-quality media to be utilized by all clients and sister companies.  The ideal candidate has a strong background in video post-production, focusing on non-linear editing and animation, must be passionate about learning new software and instructing others and a driven individual who actively listens while demonstrating ownership and follow-through. Working in a dynamic fast-changing production environment will be a great place for this proactive creative editor.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire post-production process of multiple video projects
  • Assist producers and creative team in pre-production and production
  • Edit television commercials, event footage, promo videos, trailers and pilots
  • Own multiple corporate video and marketing team tasks
  • Responsible for managing MAM data management system
  • Manage video and metadata assets using metadata management software
  • Troubleshoot issues within editing systems along with engineering support
  • Work with and assist freelance and staff editors
  • Ability to develop new processes which will improve the daily function of the studio
  • Supervise and manage client relations and expectations
  • Prepare estimates for post-production jobs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years of video production experience in commercial, corporate or freelance environments
  • Advanced ability working with Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere, AE, etc.
  • 2-4 year degree in video production, post-production, fine arts, film studies or digital media
  • Strong active listener with the drive to seek out and incorporate feedback to enhance the quality of the end product
  • Ability to effectively develop and execute a logical narrative flow
  • Bonus experience: graphics, animation, color grading, special effects, and sound design
  • Self-motivation to grow core competencies; resourceful

Experience and Education Required:

  • College or Technical School Degree in Post-Production/Video Editing preferred but not required
  • Extensive client relations ability
  • Experience with Media Asset Management
  • Experience editing with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere and Adobe Suite, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Fusion Studio
  • Experience using and managing Autodesk Maya and Flame and The Foundry’s Nuke X a plus.
  • Experience with Leader Wave Form Monitors a plus
  • Experience using and managing Omneon MediaGrid and LTO tape backup a plus
  • Experience operating EVS Playout systems and VizRT Artist a plus
  • Strong understanding of both Apple OS and Microsoft Windows OS

Skills Required:

  • Ability to edit, and understand editor and client needs in order to make their experience smooth and resolve issues quickly
  • Ability to organize and manage large volumes of video and metadata using CatDV and custom media asset library systems
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks while working effectively under the pressure of client needs
  • Savvy technical skills and desire to learn news systems; will be required to troubleshoot issues in the post production area with engineering and IT staff as necessary
